Gilding, blue, yellow and black glazes together form the camel painting with its trappings. The image has a water color like effect with a blurring of the edges. Small trees by the handle are embellished with plumes of white. Reserve spots on the background look like falling snow.   A stamped gold mark on the base reads “Sascha Brastoff CALIFORNIA USA B54” with a rooster above. A portion of the S from “Sascha” is missing. Sascha Brastoff, ( 1917-1993 ) was one of the most famous names in pottery during the 1950's and this is a very fine example of his ceramic artistry.   MEASUREMENTS   6” (15.2 cm) wide x 5” (12.7 cm) diameter x 7 ¼” (18.4 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 8.9 oz (710 g)   CONDITION   There is a rim chip by the spout. There are no other chips, cracks, or breaks. There is a rust stain on the neck inside of the pitcher.
