  • Pick your own delicious, healthy rhubarb for longer with three top performing varieties that fruit in succession from March to August. These premium field-grown crowns are ready to plant and easy to grow, giving you a fresh supply of top quality rhubarb stalks for many years.
  • You will receive three bare root rhubarb crowns - one each of Timperley Early (harvest from March to May), one Raspberry Red (harvest from March to June) and one Victoria (harvest from May to August). Timperley Early is the best for early forcing, with strong, red-pink stems which start to mature as soon as February. Mid-season Raspberry Red is a vibrant crimson rhubarb with a sweet flavour. Late season Victoria is easy to grow and produces plenty of green, pink-flushed stalks with a delicious sweet flavour. It's suitable for late forcing too.
  • Timperley Early and Raspberry Red are RHS Award of Garden Merit winners
  • Fully hardy and long lived, rhubarb plants will produce stalks for at least ten years.
  • Grow outdoors in a sunny border or even a large container, leaving 90-100cm between plants as they like to spread out. Check our individual plant pages for detailed growing instructions and measurements.
  • Cook your rhubarb with sugar for perfect crumbles, jams, fools and pies.
  • Only the stalks are edible; the leaves are mildly poisonous and should never be consumed.
  • Plants will produce stalks in the first season after planting, but you'll need to leave these alone to allow the plant to establish itself. From the second year onwards, you can harvest as much as you like from April to June, when the leaves have fully unfurled and the stems are at least 30cm long. Rhubarb plants benefit from mulching with compost or manure every autumn.
